Hello! My name is Holly, and welcome to HollyGemia!
I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge, finishing with a First-Class Honours in Biological Natural Sciences, and I am currently embarking on my next academic challenge undertaking a master’s degree in Cancer at UCL (University College London). During my gap year, commencing in 2019, I decided to begin online tutoring in biology. On top of this, I have also provided support to those applying to higher education, whether that be for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Over the course of the year, I have helped over 70 students in their academic studies at school, university and even beyond, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience to say the least.
With my business being solely run by myself for the year, I have now decided to expand and recruit a team of online tutors to assist students in a range of subjects, beyond my specialism of biology. Over 2 months, I have therefore worked extremely hard to nestle a small team of incredibly talented individuals to join my goal in making education and learning a life-long journey that is more accessible globally.
Although I am still young and growing myself, I want to do my very best to support others in their academic and personal journeys. For many years of my life I have focussed my energies into studying, and also refined the ways in which I tackle exams and assessments. I now wish to share this with others and hope that each can find their own unique learning style.

SUBJECTS
We offer subject tutoring sessions in the seven subjects listed above.
SESSIONS
For all subjects, tutoring can take place in private one-to-one sessions or group sessions with up to four friends. The group must be organised and specified before applications are made. All teaching is conducted online through video calls.
levels
Tutoring is offered for students at all levels, including GCSE and A-level studies in school (or equivalent) and undergraduate degrees at university. All sessions are incredibly personalised, so please enquire if you have any specific requests.
language
Biology and chemistry can be taught in German or English. All other subjects are taught in English.
ALL APPLICATIONS
We can support all students applying for undergraduate degrees, master’s or PhDs in the UK or abroad in all disciplines, not just limited to the subjects listed above. We can help with writing personal statements, preparing for interviews and studying towards entrance examinations.
OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE
Select members of the team at HollyGemia can help with applications to Oxford and Cambridge. This includes sitting the NSAA (Natural Sciences Admissions Assessment) for Natural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine.
US ADMISSIONS
Select members of the team at HollyGemia can provide assistance to any students applying to the US with written applications and both the SAT and ACT exams.
MEDICINE AND VETERINARY MEDICINE
Support to students applying for medicine and veterinary medicine at undergraduate level can be provided. This includes preparing for interviews as well as the UCAT and BMAT exams.
PROOFREADING
If you have essays, coursework or assignment projects that need proofreading to check the content, spelling and grammar of your work, we can provide written feedback directly. This does not involve live online sessions. You will be given information about the team member providing your feedback before you decide to go ahead with proofreading.

TIMELINE
All feedback will be provided within 48-72 hours following submission and payment, and a faster 24 hour turnaround time is also offered.
